i get a lot of requests from different sources and i tend to forget about them if i don’t work on them immediately. so this is my attempt to centralize everyones wishes and suggestions here in order to work of the priorities whenever i’m working on chanarchive stuff.

Stop deleting all the threads about the boston bombing
The threads posting information about the bombing are being manipulated. EVERY thread searching for evidence has been downvoted to deletion. Threads that make jokes about the event, however, are being preserved despite far more offense. Image suppression is happening on other sites too.
I'm backing them up myself and putting them in torrents along with all the images. so that the information is as genuine as possible.6 votes -

Problems as of 20th March 2013
1. Download as zip does not work (either 404, or loses energy some way through).
2. You have a one in three chance of loading a page successfully or 404.
3. You have a one in ten chance of loading some pages in full.
4. Remember password does not work.I would like to suggest the ability to bookmark the main page without having to constantly press the SFW+NSFW button.

A download all images option
Have a download all images option, for stuff like /wg/ and /hr/

Search for threads by year date?
Have an option to browse threads by year date, eg: 2006,2007,2008 - up to 2013.

Pay a dude US$50 to Chan archive into compilations and sell it for a dollar a pop.
Plain simple as that. Get a dude to do it in a week and by next month you're rolling around sweet dollar signs and a few coins too. Use that money and hire a mod or 2, buy some kush, empty fertilizing liquids inside some skank, rinse and repeat till satisfaction.
You have to do it fast and only offer nomination rights to a randomly generated cache of regular archive users on a previously set date. It has to be a traceable monetary exchange or bit coin equivalent assignment.
Each compilation must come with a sick collection of underage booty…

Archived Page 404
Don't know if its a bug or if it was removed intentionally.
I had a few pages I bookmarked so I could get back and save the pics at a later time. But now it loads a 404 page not found.

Clean the site up in general, make it look a bit more like 4chanarchive.org
The site runs nowhere near as well as 4chanarchive.org did on either a PC or a mobile device, and that's really the reason why I avoided chanarchive itself like the plague up until recently when 4chanarchive.org began redirecting to chanarchive; it just doesn't work as well, run as quickly, etc. In fact it doesn't work -at all- on any of my mobile devices. I can understand that it's probably because it's a bigger site in general with more things to load up and so on, but come on, I'd expect the replacement site to work better than the original.

Fix the 500 internal server errors on the chanarchive imageboards
It's impossible to post or start a new thread on /chans/, etc. because you get a 500 error no matter what you do.

What the hell are points and how do I get them? Explain it somewhere please.
On chanarchive.org/requests you can read "... or'archive directly' if you are logged in and have enough points to do so". OK. Where do I get those points? I see a board list, [latest] [chans] [tags] [tag cloud] [request archival] [favorites] [random thread] and [feedback] buttons, sfw / xxx / regular, mobile, /ca/ /chans/ and /hurr/, popular threads, list of supported boards and © 2012 chanarchive.org | contact: blahblahblah. Not a single "help" or "faq" link, unless I missed it.
Also clicking the "more »" link on top gives a 500 internal error.

Thread's title as title attribute of the <a> tag
The problem is that some thread's titles are so long that you can't view them completely on the threads list until you open the actual thread.
My suggestion for this solution is to insert the full title as the <a> tag attribute (title="" attribute that is, so title="superlong trhead's title go here").
That way, user will see the whole title of the thread (grabbing the first paragraph or the first n characters of it could be a good solution) without the need of opening it first.I've done some tests, to get this working properly you'll have to watch for…

Archiving directly
Why can't you archive a post directly after you've voted for it once? I know the point is that you're only supposed to vote once, but direct archival is supposed to send it to the archive no matter what.

fix /hm/ downvoting, majority of people are homohating asshats. can't think of a way to fix this.
There probably isn't a mod who would archive /hm/ threads themselves. /hm/ is probably a not well liked board to the other boards so I think that archiving threads would be more difficult for /hm/ compared to the more popular boards. A thread that I would consider archiving is any thread with 100+ image replies. I don't really care for discussion threads but they might be worth archiving for some people.
